Haute couture ensembles are incomplete without the perfect customized accessories. In much the same way, Linda Allen's haute couture environments are supported and adorned with coordinated, custom-designed furniture, lighting and accessories to create a singular, unified whole.

“The true work I do is listening to clients, and sensing what engages their feelings and emotions,” says Allen. "Sensory environments should be designed with the proper lighting, colors, textures, and styling enhancements." Her attention to detail also incorporates the use of aromas, music and sensory details to create moods one desires to feel in each room.

The road to success began at an unusual place for Linda Allen: She came to realize her passion for design at a young age while performing as a professional ice skater. “I used to focus on the color of spotlights hitting me while I skated in the Ice Capades,” she says. “It was then that I decided that I wanted to pursue lighting design.” Linda went on to obtain a bachelors’ design degree from California State University of Long Beach in Interior and Environmental Design.  She began her career working for lighting design firms, focusing on lighting large hotels overseas and in Las Vegas, but soon decided lighting was just one facet of her larger interest in design. She soon began designing offices for clients like “American Golf," and consulted directly with Earvin "Magic" Johnson to customize the Beverly Hills offices of his Magic Johnson Enterprises in 1996.

With a desire to expand beyond commercial properties, Allen found her niche when she was selected by Walt Disney Imagineering as a lead designer in the set-design department. She focused on custom light fixtures that supported story telling in Disney’s theme parks. She designed a hand-blown glass jellyfish, a 20-foot long kelp chandelier, and iridized bubble light fixtures for a seafood restaurant inside the Coney Island area within Disney’s California Adventure theme park, where internationally renowned chef Wolfgang Puck premiered his seafood specialties. Many more one-of-a-kind creations can be seen inside the park, at the Esplanade at the ticket counters in Anaheim, California, and at Disney’s Tokyo Disney Seas theme park in Japan.

Allen's passion for specialty interior design then got more personal as she transitioned to creating "signature style" environments for residential interiors. She designed the homes of many high-profile entertainment personalities and tastemakers.

Allen's multifaceted experience has enhanced her innate ability to understand the ways in which architectural design, effective lighting and sensory details must coalesce. Throughout her career, she has traveled the world collecting signature pieces that inspire and tie cultural expression into each design.

Not surprisingly, Allen's success has led to various television appearances, including HGTV’s “Designing for the Sexes” and “You’re Home.” She has also made multiple guest appearances on The Style Network’s design show, “Area.” Ms. Allen’s work has also been featured in concept homes such as The Pasadena Showcase House of Design, as well as publications like, The Chicago Tribune, Interiors Magazine, Essence Magazine and the Los Angeles Times.
